Diriliş: Ertuğrul Fan Art

As much as I love TV I don’t have that much time for it. There are some shows that I binge watch on Netflix and it is great that I can watch when I get the time and watch as many episodes as I like. When I was a kid we had to wait a week for our favourite show and then we only had it for about an hour.

When everyone I know (and those I don’t) on the other side of the world started raving about some Turkish historical TV serial, Diriliş: Ertuğrul, I didn’t pay it much attention. I was not interested in watching something where I had to read subtitles, I couldn’t make that kind of commitment, even though it was called the Turkish Game of Thrones. I thought the noise would die down and people would get over it. But that did not happen. It got to the point where it seemed that was all anyone would talk about, so I thought I’d watch a couple episodes. A couple episodes. If you watch the show you know what a joke that is. I have never been this addicted to any TV show ever. So much that I suddenly had the urge to create fan art. I have never painted fan art. I always felt that is something artists under twenty do. I feel like an eighteen-year-old nerd now. I just want to paint Erutgrul fan art. Here is a timelapse video of the painting process of the first piece in what will probably be a long line of paintings, there are like 76 episodes in the first season! So many interesting characters. I will be painting these forever.
